ELIGIBILITY
- Any Indian citizen retired from Central government, State Government or any other government body who is eligible to receive pension can open their Pension accounts with Bank of India.
- The account can be opened either in Singly or in joint names only with spouse and operational instructions of Either/Survivor or Former/Survivor.

LIFE CERTIFICATE
Pensioners having pension account with Bank of India can now submit their Life Certificate at all branches of the bank in the month of November.
You can submit your Life certificate using the following methods based on your comfort:
- Physical Life Certificate
- Door Step banking
- Jeevan Pramaan
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
- Pensioners aged 80 and above can submit their life certificates in advance in the month of October.
- Pensioners can submit their life certificate by visiting any Bank of India Branch.
- Ensure submission of life certificate in the month of November to avail regular pensions.
- Please ask for system generated acknowledgement for submission of your life certificate.
More about Digital Life Certificate
Government of India on 10th November 2014 launched Digital Life Certificate also known as Jeevan Pramaan for Pensioners aiming to streamline the process of life certificate and making it hassle free for the pensioners. Jeevan Pramaan is an Aadhaar based Digital life certificate process, which is easy and secure. It's an additional feature for the pensioners to the existing system of physical submission of life certificate at their branch or branch of their convenience.
Upon successful submission of digital life certificate, pensioner will get an acknowledgement SMS from NIC on his / her mobile number with the transaction id. However confirmation regarding acceptance or rejection of Digital life certificate will be provided only through our bank via SMS within 2-3 days of its submission. Since the entire process of Digital Life Certificate is based on Aadhaar, it can only be authenticated if pensioner's account number is seeded with Aadhaar number.
